Service Manager

Located: Elgin, Illinois

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, self-starter with exceptional customer service skills and a “lead from the front” attitude.


  • Elgin, Illinois
  • Occasional travel to various sites/customer facilities, and Europe for service-related meetings

Job overview and responsibilities:

  • Directly manage day to day operations of the Service Department
  • Plan, communicate and implement procedures and policies for the overall efficient operation of the Service Department
  • Assist with development and promotion of Service Contracts

  • Build a successful service environment and image by collaborating with customers and employees

  • Improve team morale and ensure employees are motivated and productive

  • Ensure successful training and development of service technicians

  • Oversee scheduling and logistical tracking of technician travel

  • Utilize trips for training opportunities

  • Assist with machine installations, trouble-shooting, and fielding customer service issues

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops

  • Engage with corporate officers in broader organizational strategic planning

  • Identify areas of concern

  • Oversee recruitment

  • Maintain and enforce ethical business practices

  • Implement health and safety regulations

  • Report to General Manager

  • University/college degree in Management (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of technical experience within the converting and printing industry
  • At least 2 years of successful management experience
  • Valid, clean driving license
  • Valid passport
