ABG Announce Expansion Plans
A B Graphic International (ABG) has recently purchased a third manufacturing site at Kelleythorpe Industrial Estate, near Driffield, East Yorkshire, close to their Bridlington headquarters.
The announcement, which comes as a result of ongoing and significant demand for the company’s equipment, will provide an additional 40,000 square-foot footprint with land for parking, lorry access and a new office development. The site is currently undergoing refurbishment and building work and is scheduled to be ready for occupancy by early 2023.
Plans for the new site include relocating their dedicated turret rewinder manufacturing facility, which has been based at a smaller site nearby in Middleton on the Wolds since 1995. ABG is the supplier of the automatic Vectra turret rewinders and this move reflects continued strong sales of the product, with over 2,000 installations worldwide to-date. Also included in the move is ABG’s “machine shop,” an engineering facility making bespoke aluminum plates for all of their finishing machines and located on the same industrial estate as the firm’s Bridlington headquarters.
Commenting on the expansion, ABG’s CEO, Richard Knight, states, “This move is excellent news for ABG and our customers. Not only can we bring key parts of our business under one roof, we also have plans to make a significant investment in new machining centers that will yield additional capacity to cope with the increased demand. We look forward to providing our customers with the benefits that this non stop production will allow. The extra space will also enable us to create a state-of-the-art showroom environment, where we can showcase our products and services to customers.”
Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director, adds, “The expansion is key in terms of maintaining momentum and continuing to provide customers with excellent levels of service. We have successfully navigated the disruption caused over the last two years through a mix of planned investments and prioritising innovation, and have continued on our growth track. With this additional site, we are now in a great position to consolidate our position in the market and provide our customers with an even better experience in their dealings with ABG.”
